motez: live at womadelaide—2022

Design, fabrication and live programming of custom lighting elements onstage at Womadelaide 2022.

Held on the traditional lands of the Kaurna People, WOMADelaide – ( World Of Music Arts & Dance ) is an iconic open-air festival celebrating cultural discovery in the heart of Adelaide’s stunning Botanic Park / Tainmuntilla. The World’s Festival, since 1992, WOMADelaide is a truly unique part of the Australian festival landscape, showcasing the best, the essential – and the surprising – in music, arts, dance and ideas from around the world.

In colloboration with Moutaiz Al-Obaidi, known professionally as Motez, mapped designed and live-programmed a custom lighting element as part of Motez' live performance onstage during the 2022 festival.

We flew a 20m floating truss circle laden with fixtures behind the artist as he performed a live set in what proved to be a truly unforgettable viewing experience.
